AVILA LIGHTHOUSE SUITES

Avila Lighthouse Suites is the only all-suite beachfront hotel in Avila Beach. Avila Beach is along California's Central Coast, next to Pismo Beach and 5 minuets to downtown San Luis Obispo. Tucked halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, nestled among the rolling hills of California's Central Coast. This hotel has a beach house feel and is recently renovated. The staff is seriously and consistently lacking, but the accommodations are true California beach, relaxed, casual and fun. The location is the best in Avila to walk right outside and onto the beach.

Accommodations

Suites with King or Queen beds, and separate pullout couch

Location

Beautiful beach front location, with ocean views and sounds of the sea

Service

Needs improvement. Rude front desk, management is horrible

Overall

The overall experience is very good, but they are known for having horrible service, which is hard to swallow with their recent price increases. The outside of the hotel is colorful with Tiffany blue, yellow and green. The suites are great with an outstanding location. The hotel is fun for a truly steps from the ocean trip.

AVILA LIGHTHOUSE SUITES

Avila Lighthouse Suites is a great hotel for an authentic California beach experience. The all-suite hotel is truly beachfront, with only a street with parking between your patio or balcony and the beach.

From the colorful exterior to the newly renovated rooms, the oceanfront hotel features 54 newly renovated, two-room Suites ranging from 550 to 1,100 square feet. There is an outdoor shower, and it is a great place to celebrate the 4th of July. However, be aware that from the ocean front rooms on the north side you can really smell lighter fluid during BBQs.

There is a gym and a wonderful pool. This is a very family-friendly hotel, which is great. The grounds are well-maintained, but keep in mind that during recent times, there have been a lot of guests that are overly drinking, to the point that staff has had to ask them to remove chairs from the manicured lawns.

The hotel is wonderful that it pains us to write about the horrible customer service. We have stayed here many times and the service just keeps getting worse. It is absolutely horrible  service, including the managers, that you aren't sure how or why they are even in hospitality. The front desk and managers are not friendly and not accommodating.

However, the hotel is so cute and it is great for actually going to the beach and being close to your room. Their prices are truly outrageous now and unfortunately they are not a 5-star hotel so they shouldn't be charging 5-star hotel prices. The hotel is wonderful though. It is a great stay to be in the room and just enjoy the beautiful ocean waves or have access to beautiful Avila Beach.
